new toy!
Our old digital camera gave up the ghost a while ago, after several years of loyal service, and on Wednesday, our shiny new Canon Powershot S70 arrived. Cameras have definitely improved over the last few years! I was especially pleased to see how fast it is. Our old camera took several seconds or more to warm up when it was turned on, and to write to the memory card after each shot. The new one is ready pretty much immediately, and can take a photo a second. I immediately sprang into action to take far, far too many photos of our cats. Meet Foster, who is the best spiritual director I've ever had.

I gave my gf a new digital camera for Christmas. We have had entirely too much fun taking picutres and now have more pictures of the pets than we do of the kid. Not sure what that means...
I'm currently hunting for a spiritual director. Is Foster taking anymore directees?

Foster takes on everyone who comes through the door! She's one of the most gregarious cats I know. She also seems to keep anyone in her prayers who will supply her at least occasionally with salmon or turkey.

My best spiritual director ever, Maisie, a terrier of uncertain ancestory, was actually nominated by 3 different people for the lay ministry team at my old church...she had a real pastoral gift and just loved everybody.
Sadly, she departed this life in December 2003. We now share our home with 2 other dogs plus 3 cats, none of whom show any signs of the kind altruism that anyone foolish enough to take on my spiritual direction needs. Fortunately, I do also have a human example of the genus, who is pretty fantastic, thanks be to God.
